Tricycle driver faces drug raps

ILOILO City – A tricycle driver faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The 44-year-old suspect Jeric Blasa, also known as “Pablo”, was arrested during a police buy-bust operation in Barangay Veterans village, City Proper at 9:20 on April 16.

He was taken into custody by the Iloilo City Police Station 1 (ICPS1), led by Police Captain Roque Gimeno III.

Cops employed body-worn cameras to ensure transparency and accountability during the operation.

They recovered eight sachets of suspected shabu, including the item used in the sting.

The street value of the seized drugs was estimated at P20,000 per gram.

Police also recovered P9,000 in marked money.

The operation involved multiple units including the City Drug Enforcement Unit, Special Weapons and Tactics, and the PDEG, with ICPS1 spearheading the investigation./PN
