ILOILO City – The police here arrested two men and confiscated about 390 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of approximately P2.6 million.
According to the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), the arrests were made late on the evening of April 23 during a targeted operation along the Circumferential Road in Barangay San Jose, Arevalo district.
The suspects, “Mico”, 33, and Ryan, “36”, both residents of Molo district, were caught in possession of 240 grams of shabu initially valued at P1.63 million.
A follow-up operation carried out at around 1:30 a.m. on April 24 led to further developments as “Mico” surrendered an additional 150 grams of shabu, contained in 30 sachets and valued at P1.02 million, bringing the total value of drugs seized to P2.65 million.
Both suspects, considered high-value targets in the region’s drug trade network, are now detained and facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).
“Mico” had previously been arrested in 2017 for shabu possession but was released following a plea bargain agreement. “Ryan”, in contrast, had surrendered earlier under the government’s “Tokhang” initiative.
The operation was a joint effort by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 and the Iloilo City Police Station 6./PN
