ILOILO City – Police detained two men for possession of shabu valued at P7 million during an operation in Barangay Cabugao Sur, Santa Barbara, Iloilo on Thursday evening, May 2.
The suspects, known by the aliases “Bryan”, 30, from Barangay Camambugan, Santa Barbara, and “Perper”, 38, from Zone 2, Barangay Tanza Timawa, Iloilo City, were apprehended at 9:55 p.m. in a buy-bust operation.
The operation led to the seizure of 1,040 grams of suspected shabu.
Additionally, a .357 caliber revolver with three live rounds was recovered from “Bryan”, who is also suspected of involvement in a robbery in San Jose, Antique province.
“Perper” was found in possession of an improvised shotgun, two live rounds, and drug paraphernalia.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, praised the operatives for this achievement.
“This successful operation reflects the seriousness and commitment with which you execute your sworn duties. Let’s maintain the intensity of our campaign against illegal drug traffickers,” said Wanky.
Both suspects face charges under Republic Act (RA) 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
