ILOILO – Two restobars were gutted in separate fire incidents in Aklan and Capiz provinces.

Both establishments were made of light materials, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

BFP-Kalibo said a fire broke out in a 200-square meter Jack N Jill restobar on Lorenzo Drive, Kalibo town past 10 a.m. yesterday.

A “fire out” was declared around 11 a.m.

No record of injured persons in the said incident, authorities said.

Owner Ryan Denosta, in an interview, said they had just left the restobar on their way to New Washington town when they received a call that their establishment was on fire.

He added they did not leave any unattended cooking in the kitchen.

As of this writing, BFP-Kalibo continued to investigate the cause of the blaze and determine the extent of the damage.

Prior to this, a fire totally destroyed Marilyn Ducanes’s restobar in Barangay Vizcaya, President Roxas, Capiz on Saturday afternoon, May 4.

According to Fire Officer 2 Vincent Barcelo of BFP-President Roxas, unattended cooking was the cause of the fire.

The blaze caused approximately P21,000 in property damage, Barcelo added./PN
