AKLAN — In Barangay Poblacion, New Washington town, a domestic argument turned violent, resulting in a woman being stabbed multiple times by her husband.
The altercation, which occurred on the night of May 4, allegedly began over the possession of a Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) card, a government subsidy program card.
The husband, known as āTookā, was reportedly intoxicated during the dispute.
According to police reports, the argument escalated when the husband demanded the 4Ps card before his planned departure to Manila, which the wife refused to give.
Further intensifying the conflict were accusations of the wifeās adultery, involving secret communications with another individual for over a year.
In a fit of rage, the husband inflicted severe stab wounds on his wifeās thigh and chest.
The victim was quickly transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment. As of now, she is receiving care for her injuries.
Authorities have taken the husband into custody at the New Washington police station. He is expected to be formally charged with frustrated parricide today./PN
