ILOILO – A suspected former soldier, known only by his alias “Boyet”, was arrested late Wednesday, May 6, in Leganes, Iloilo, after law enforcement officials seized approximately P1 million worth of suspected shabu during a targeted operation against illegal drug activities.
The bust occurred in Barangay Cagamutan Sur around 9:20 p.m.
It was a joint effort by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office and the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Leganes police station.
During the operation, officials confiscated 150 grams of shabu.
“Boyet”, 37, from Barangay Cansilayan, Dumangas town, was described by authorities as a high-value suspect in the local drug trade.
In addition to the narcotics, various non-drug-related paraphernalia were also seized at the scene.
Now in police custody, “Boyet” faces charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
