CAPIZ – Thirty farmers associations in this province received P135 million worth of agricultural machinery from the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (DA-PHilMech).
Gov. Fredenil H. Castro and Provincial Agriculturist Sylvia dela Cruz led the distribution of 19 four-wheel drive tractors to the beneficiaries at the provincial capitol on Wednesday, May 15.
May Ville Castro, PHilMech representative, said the farm machinery could greatly help boost the province’s agriculture sector.
Of the 30 farmers associations, two are from Roxas City – the Kasanag Pinaypayan Bolo Farmers Association and San Jose Farmers and Workers Association.
“Nalipay ako nga diri sa Roxas City duha naton ka farmers associations ang nangin benepisyaryo sini nga programa. Makabulig ini sang daku agud mangin mamag-an kag mapahapos ang ila pagpanguma,” said Mayor Ronnie Dadivas who was also present during the distribution./PN
