AKLAN – A plastic sachet of suspected shabu and a grenade were seized by authorities from a drug suspect in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Bantayan, Barangay Calizo, Balete town.
The 33-year-old carpenter, Arvi Ambrocio, was temporarily residing in the said place, according to Balete police.
Joint operatives of the Balete police station, Aklan Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and 1st Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company arrested the suspect on Saturday morning, May 18.
During a body search, police also recovered the buy-bust money amounting to P21,000 and a knife.
Police Major Bryan Alamo, chief of the Balete police station, said the anti-narcotics team spent weeks to monitor the illegal drug activities of the suspect before staging the operation.
The suspect was detained at the custodial facility of Balete police station.
He is facing charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 9516, or the Unlawful Manufacture, Sales, Acquisition, Disposition, Importation, or Possession of an Explosive or Incendiary Device./PN
