Two dead in motorcycle-truck crash

BACOLOD City – A collision involving a motorcycle and a truck resulted to the death of two individuals on Tuesday evening, May 21, at Purok Kalubihan in Barangay Cartagena, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

The fatalities were motorcycle driver Gabriel Chavez, 15, and backrider Adrian Paulino, 21, both residents of the aforementioned barangay.

According to Police Major Fernando Somblingo, chief of the Sipalay City Police Station, Chavez and Paulino were out on a motorcycle to buy ice.

Somblingo said due to heavy rains that time, the victims did not notice the truck parked beside the road and they crashed against at around 10 p.m.

The motorcycle was allegedly running fast and the victims were not wearing helmets, added the police chief.

Sipalay City police investigation showed that the victims sustained fatal body injuries. They died while receiving treatment at a hospital./PN
