322 fugitives captured in 15-day sweep

ILOILO City – In a focused 15-day operation, Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) has successfully apprehended 322 individuals with outstanding arrest warrants.

The operation, which spanned from May 1 to 15, targeted those identified on the Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) list as well as others with pending lesser offenses.

The campaign breakdown showed that 56 of the arrested individuals were classified as MWPs, falling into the top 10 most wanted in their areas, while the remaining 266 were apprehended for lesser crimes.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office led with 16 top 10 fugitives captured, followed closely by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office with 14, and the Capiz Police Provincial Office with eight.

Other contributing units included the Antique Police Provincial Office with seven arrests; Iloilo City Police Office with four; and the Bacolod City, Aklan Police Provincial Offices and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Regional Field Unit 6 each securing two arrests.

The Guimaras Police Provincial Office made one arrest.

In terms of arresting individuals with lesser offenses, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office recorded the highest with 132 arrests. It was followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office with 52, and both the Antique Police Provincial Office and Bacolod City Police Office with 21 each.

PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky praised the effort of the officers involved.

“Congratulations to all our dedicated officers for your outstanding efforts. Your hard work not only brings these fugitives to justice but also ensures the safety and security of our communities,” said Wanky.

He further emphasized that these arrests should serve as a warning to those still evading the law and urged community and stakeholders to continue supporting police efforts against criminality./PN
