BACOLOD City – A high-value drug suspect was apprehended in Barangay Prosperidad, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday afternoon, May 28.
The 43-year-old alias “Lito,” a resident of the aforementioned village, yielded five plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 62 grams and valued at around P426,000.
Operatives of the San Carlos Component City Police Station also recovered a caliber .45 pistol with one magazine and two live cartridges.
The suspect was taken into custody by the San Carlos City police.
He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, lauded the San Carlos City police for their accomplishment.
“The successful arrest of Lito bespeaks of your competence towards your job. May your selfless dedication and commitment be an inspiration to our colleagues,” Wanky said.
He added: “This successful apprehension should also serve as a stern warning to those who still
engage in the illegal drug trade. If you opt to continue from your unlawful acts, soonest
you will be behind bars.”/PN
