BACOLOD City – A tricycle driver was hospitalized after he was stabbed on his back in Hacienda San Roque, Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16.
The 45-year-old Renato Magquilat, a resident of the village’s Purok 4, was recuperating at Hinigaran Medical Clinic.
Police identified the suspect as Ryan Garcia, 43, also a resident of Purok 4.
According to the Hinigaran police station, Garcia waited for the victim to pass by the area and stabbed him with a knife.
Police said they are eyeing an old grudge as possible motive behind the attack.
The suspect was arrested and detained at the Hinigaran police station for proper disposition./PN
