Businessman gunned down

BACOLOD City – A 46-year-old businessman was shot to death in Purok Masagana, Barangay Sum-ag here.

Authorities said Gregg Alvin Gelito, a resident of the city’s Alunan Baybay, Barangay 35, succumbed to gunshot wounds on his head.

According to Captain Michael Tuburan, chief of the Bacolod City Police Station 9, Gelito was about to get into his Toyota Hilux when two motorcycle-riding gunman wearing a full face helmet shot him thrice on the head on Tuesday afternoon, July 16.

Lieutenant Colonel Joery Puerto, acting chief of the City Investigation and Detection Management Unit (CIDMU), said the victim had a personal enemy in relation to his being a contractor.

As of this writing, the CIDMU has identified persons of interest in the killing of Gelito./PN
