BACOLOD City – A 40-year-old man was hacked to death on Monday morning, July 22, during a drinking binge in Sitio Trencera, Barangay San Benito, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
Roberto Pinile, a resident of the said place, succumbed to hack wounds on his head and neck.
Captain Jesus Alba, chief of the Calatrava Municipal Police Station (MPS), said Pinile and the suspect identified as Dionisio Tabanao were having a drinking binge around 8:40 a.m. when a commotion later ensued between them.
Alba said the victim first punched the suspect and the latter retaliated by hacking the former.
Officers of the Calatrava MPS arrested the suspect in a hot pursuit operation. He will be charged with murder, police added./PN
