ILOILO City – A fire totally destroyed a house in St. Joseph Phase 1, Barangay Cubay, Jaro district yesterday.

Neneth Silayro and her family were not in their house when the fire broke out.

According to Bibing Padilla, barangay captain of Cubay, the Silayro family went to church and they heard an explosion from the house.

Padilla added that a dog was trapped on its cage and died inside the house, and a motorcycle was damaged.

The Bureau of Fire Protection in Jaro said the fire was raised to first alarm at around 11:37 a.m. and after three minutes it was raised to second alarm.

The fire was under control around 12:37 p.m. and a “fire out” was declared at 1:07 p.m.

As of this writing, authorities were still determining the cause of the blaze./PN
