Sagay City raid yields guns, ammos, grenade

BACOLOD City – Police recovered guns, ammunition and grenade during a raid of a house in Barangay Bulanon, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

Armed with a search warrant, officers of the Sagay City Component Police Station raided the house of alias “Toto” around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31.

Police confiscated homemade improvised pistol, caliber .45 pistol, hand grenade, magazine for a caliber .45 pistol, ammunition for 12-gauge shotgun, and six pieces of ammunition for caliber .45.

The suspect is now detained at the Sagay City Component Police Station. He faces a charge for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, commended the police officers for the successful implementation of the search warrant.

Wanky further told them to continue monitoring individuals who are suspected of possessing loose firearms and to take appropriate legal action when supported by evidence./PN
