BACOLOD City – The city government is ready for the first round of salary adjustment of its employees this year.
City Budget Officer Imelda Williams told the media yesterday that there is an available budget for the first tranche of salary increase for the regular and plantilla employees, however they are still waiting for the guidelines from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
“Despite the Executive Order (EO) No. 64 already signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., we still have to wait for the guidelines,” she explained.
EO No. 64 grants a salary increase and medical allowance to government employees.
The DBM on Saturday, August 3, said with the EO, they can now roll out the first tranche of Salary Standardization Law (SSL) VI.
It added that the salary increase is not just upon implementation but retroactive.
The approved salary increase applies to all civilian government personnel in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches, as well as Constitutional Commissions and Offices, as well as Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) not covered by the GOCC Governance Act of 2011 and Executive Order No. 150 (s.2021), and local government units (LGUs), regardless of appointment status, whether regular, contractual or casual, appointive or elective, and on full-time or part-time basis.
It shall be implemented in four tranches, retroactively effective from January 1st of each year starting this year.
The EO however stated that the salary increase shall not apply to individuals whose services are engaged through job orders, contracts of service, consultancy or service contracts with no employer-employee relationship./PN
