ILOILO – Police seized shabu valued at over P1 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Damires, Janiuay town on August 22.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit also apprehended three suspects during the operation, including a 43-year-old man from Barangay Don Lutero East, known by the alias “Batok.”

Described as a high-value individual (HVI), “Batok” had been under surveillance for a month due to suspected drug activities.

The other two arrested, known as “Artem,” 38, and “Grasya,” 40, were newly identified drug suspects from Barangay Jibolo.

A total of 50 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P1,020,000, were recovered during the operation.

IPPO director Police Colonel Bayani Razalan expressed gratitude towards the operation team and the local community for their role in the successful drug bust.

“A big thank you to our courageous operating team members and engaged Ilonggo community. I sincerely appreciate your bravery and commitment to a drug-free community. Your courage in standing up against illegal activities is truly commendable,” Razalan said./PN
