MANILA – The Premier Volleyball League have postponed the scheduled Reinforced Conference semifinals matches last night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City due to a power outage in the area.
In an advisory on Thursday morning, the PVL said that the Akari Power Chargers-PLDT High Speed Hitters and the Creamline Cool Smashers-Cignal HD Spikers knockout semis games will now be played on Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Additionally, the battle for third place game and the one-game championship match will now be held on Monday, September 2, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The PVL said that the postponement is necessary due to the ongoing power outage in the area, which has been caused by the continuous downpour over the past few days.
“The severe weather has led to significant damage to several Meralco power posts supplying electricity to the Philsports Arena, making the facility inoperable for the scheduled event,” the PVL said in a media advisory.
The league further said that all tickets purchased for the original date will be automatically refunded, with the refund amount credited back to the original payment method, whether it be a bank account, card, or e-wallet.
“The PVL sincerely apologized for any inconvenience caused by this change and expressed appreciation for the understanding and patience of all those affected,” the PVL said.
“The league remains committed to ensuring a secure and enjoyable environment for its events and is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition to the new venue and date,” it added./PN
