Negros Occ. establishes help desk for OFWs in Lebanon amid reg’l tensions

BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental has established an assistance desk for affected individuals in Lebanon, coordinated by the provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO). This initiative aims to support overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) seeking repatriation amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Lebanon-based terrorist group Hezbollah.

Karen Dinsay, the provincial PESO manager, reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to aiding Negrenses affected by the crisis.

“Our dedicated assistance desk is here to provide support and guidance. We understand the challenges you may be facing and are committed to helping you through this difficult time,” said Dinsay.

Those in need can reach out to PESO directly at 034-4767230 or 09369014893 for assistance.

The provincial PESO office is located on the ground floor, north wing of the Provincial Capitol Building on Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City. It operates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Bacolod City residents requiring similar services are directed to the city government’s PESO, where Jovelyn Canoy serves as the city PESO coordinator.

Canoy highlighted the advantage of having an Overseas Workers Welfare Administration office in the locality, ensuring timely and efficient coordination for city residents seeking help./PN
