ILOILO City – A baby boy was found abandoned at the female comfort room of a mall in Mandurriao district around 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4.
According to Captain Val Cambel of the Iloilo City Police Station 10 (ICPS10), janitress Cherry Madrigal discovered the around six months old baby and immediately turned him over to the station’s Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD).
Cambel said the baby was taken to Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) for a medical examination. Following this, he will be placed under the temporary care of City Social Worker Bennel Silvederio.
As of this writing, personnel of the ICPS10 were reviewing the closed-circuit television camera footage from the mall to identify the person responsible for abandoning the baby./PN
