MANILA – Biñan Tatak Gel 1-Pacman Partylist Volley Angels got back on the winning track in the 2024 MPVA season with a 25-14, 25-11, 25-10 straight set win over Marikina Lady Shoemasters on Thursday at the Paco Arena in Manila.
Jen Kylene Villegas tallied 11 points, built on seven attacks, two blocks, and two service aces, to be named Player of the Game as the Volley Angels secured their fourth victory in seven matches.
According to Villegas, the Volley Angels are still working on their consistency as they do not have the luxury of practicing together due to her teammates’ various academic commitments.
“We will try to be consistent with our performance to be better from (our game against Marikina) and into our upcoming games,” Villegas said during her Player of the Game interview.
“Personally, I need to do my best everyday in our trainings, so that I can perform better in our remaining matches,” added the former Adamson University Lady Falcons’ middle blocker.
The Lady Shoemasters, on the other hand, remained at the cellar without a win in their four matches so far.
Meanwhile, Rizal St. Gerrard Charity Foundation Golden Coolers (3-1) stretched their winning streak as they defeated Valenzuela Classy (1-5) in straight sets, 25-14, 25-17, 25-20.
Middle blocker Hiromi Osada, was named Player of the Game after a stellar performance scoring nine points composed of six attacks, two blocks and a service ace.
Quezon Tangerines, on the other hand, bagged its sixth victory in as many games after defeating Caloocan AM Spikers (1-4), 25-16, 25-18, 25-19.
Mary Grace Borromeo exploded for 13 points to be named Player of the Game for the streaking Tangerines./PN
