ILOILO – A public high school teacher was stabbed dead inside his house in Barangay Mandog, Maasin town on Thursday night, September 12.
Ian Clementir, 46, a teacher at Dagami National High School and also a pastor, succumbed to multiple stab wounds on his body.
According to Staff Sergeant Faith Jan Leysa of the Maasin Municipal Police Station, the suspect identified as Jhed Domingo, 35, of Barangay Salacay, Cabatuan town, suddenly entered Clementir’s house and stabbed the latter in front of his kids.
Leysa added that the suspect was drunk.
Responding Maasin police immediately arrested Domingo.
The suspect was detained at the Maasin MPS, facing murder charges.
Maasin police said Clementir was a victim of mistaken identity.
“Pag-agi ko, abi ko ang kontra ko. Ginhandos ko, si pastor gali. Kun pwede ko lang mabalik nga mabuhi tana nga ako lang madula,” the emotional suspect said in an interview with DYRI RMN Iloilo after the incident.
The suspect further admitted that he was drunk that time./PN
