ILOILO – A couple was shot early Monday morning, September 16, in Barangay Jibao-an, Pavia town following a dispute over a loud videoke session.

The husband identified as alias “Rob” was shot on the left side of his stomach while his wife, alias “Mae”, sustained a gunshot wound on her left shoulder.

The suspect, alias “Philip”, who was a relative of the couple, fled after the incident and remained at large as of this writing.

Major Dadje Delima, chief of the Pavia Municipal Police Station, said a hot pursuit operation against the suspect is currently ongoing.

Delima said Rob was celebrating his birthday on Sunday, September, 15, with a videoke session at their home while Philip, who is living next to the couple’s house, was also having a drinking session with his friends.

The birthday celebration continued until early Monday morning and at around 3 a.m., an unidentified individual from Philip’s house approached the couple’s residence to complain about the noise.

Delima said the couple went to Philip’s house and a heated argument ensued. As tensions flared, the suspect allegedly shot the couple.
