ILOILO – Police arrested two most wanted persons for rape in separate operations on Wednesday, September 18.
Alias “Renato”, 53, was caught by officers of the Madalag Municipal Police Station and Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Regional Intelligence Unit 6 through the strength of an arrest warrant around 6:16 p.m. in Sitio Wasig, Barangay Mercedes, Madalag town.
He is the No. 1 most wanted person of Aklan.
Earlier at 3 p.m., Antique’s No. 9 most wanted man was apprehended in Barangay Pojo, Bugasong town by joint operatives of the Bugasong Municipal Police Station and 2nd Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company.
The 34-year-old alias “Niko” was a resident of the town’s Barangay Arangote.
Both suspects are now under police custody. No bail bond was recommended for their temporary liberty.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, lauded the units involved in the operations.
“These arrests are manifestation of the dedication of our police officers to look after the fugitives in the region. Ipagpatuloy lang po natin ang ating koordinasyon sa iba’t-ibang ahensya ng gobyerno at sa komunidad, sigurado po ako na matunton natin ang pinagtataguan ng mga natitira pang wanted persons,” Wanky added./PN
