MANILA – Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, who led the operation for the arrest of Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, was named as Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) acting director.
In a memo, the national headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) stated that Torre’s job with the CIDG started on Wednesday, September 25.
Torre’s appointment papers were signed by Police Major General Sidney Hernia, PNP Director for Personnel and Records Management, on Sept. 24.
Torre, who was appointed Davao Regional Police chief on June 16, led the 16-day implementation of an arrest warrant against Quiboloy at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City.
While searching for Quiboloy, Torre and some of the members of PRO XI were engaged in a battle with some of Quiboloy’s supporters.
Torre also previously served as Quezon City Police District chief, where he implemented the three-minute police response time.
Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete will assume the position of acting director of the Police Regional Office XI./PN
