ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) seized approximately 709 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P4.8 million in two days of operations across the region.

Between 6 a.m. on September 27 and 5:59 a.m. on September 29, various police units also arrested 15 drug suspects, three of whom were identified as high-value targets and the remaining 12 were street-level suspects.

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU 6) spearheaded the anti-illegal drug campaign, confiscating an estimated P2.4 million worth of illegal drugs.

The Iloilo City Police Office followed with P958,000 worth of suspected shabu recovered and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office with P751,600 worth of illegal drugs seized.

The other units’ recoveries are the following: Bacolod City Police Office – P530,000 worth of suspected shabu and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – P132,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, lauded the concerted effort of the law enforcement and the community.

“These accomplishments highlight the strong collaboration between the police, the public, and other law enforcement agencies. Without this partnership, we would not have been able to achieve such significant results. We look forward to continued cooperation to eradicate illegal drug activities in the region,” Wanky said.

The suspects are currently under police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
