These barangays, according to Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) director, Senior Supt. Ricardo de La Paz, are “infested” with illegal drug pushers and users now the subject of police manhunt.

De La Paz, however, would not divulge the names of these barangays that have been placed under the tight monitoring.

De La Paz vowed to run after these “druggies” by strengthening and maximizing their police monitoring and anti-illegal drug operations.

The provincial director said they had been utilizing police assets as its eyes in the barangays against drug personalities.

“In due time, we will arrest them,” De La Paz said.

Based on their monitoring and recent apprehensions, De La Paz disclosed that the illegal drugs in this province come from Iloilo City.

He cited the proximity of the island to the city which is accessible for drug runners.

He added that GPPO is also poised to know who is the source or the connection in the city of drug personalities operating in the island.
