MISS Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo has landed in Los Angeles, California, as she gears up for the international tilt’s coronation night on Nov. 16 (Nov. 17 in Manila) in Mexico.

“Chelsea Manalo, glowing and energized, has landed in style in the City of Angels where she will be staying for a few days before heading off to the 73rd Miss Universe competition in Mexico,” the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) organization said on its Instagram page on Tuesday, Oct. 22, showing the beauty queen with her luggage at an LA airport.

“With the MUPH and EmpirePH teams by her side, this is the start of her journey to the crown,” it added.

Manalo flew out of Manila to the United States on Monday, Oct. 21.

Aside from the preparations that she will take in LA, Manalo’s side trip aims to “acclimatize” the Filipino delegate to the different timezone of the host country, as per MUPH Executive Vice President Voltaire Tayag.

Manalo will be up against 120 delegates to inherit the Miss Universe crown from Sheynnis Palacios. The Bulakenya beauty queen is also vying to be the fifth titleholder from the Philippines, following Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray.
