MOA signed to strengthen Negrenses’ healthcare access

BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental and the Department of Health (DOH) formalized a partnership to enhance healthcare services for residents, signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that designates the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital as the province’s primary Apex Hospital within its Health Care Provider Network.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and DOH undersecretary Mary Ann Maestral signed the agreement on October 23 at the Governor’s Office, Provincial Capitol.

This collaboration is a step in implementing Universal Health Care (UHC) across Negros Occidental, ensuring accessible and comprehensive health services from primary to tertiary care levels.

The MOA underscores the goal to achieve UHC by aligning with the Philippine Health Facility Development Plan, which stipulates that residents should have access to primary care facilities within 30 minutes and hospital services within an hour’s travel time./PN
