ILOILO City – In a series of coordinated antidrug operations across Western Visayas on October 30, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested 10 suspected drug pushers and seized shabu valued at approximately P3.9 million.
Among those apprehended, four were classified as high-value targets.
Law enforcement units from various local police offices collectively confiscated around 572 grams of suspected shabu during the one-day crackdown.
The arrests and recoveries were made as follows:
* Iloilo City Police Office led with four arrests and seized an estimated P2,774,400 worth of shabu.
* Bacolod City Police Office apprehended one individual, confiscating shabu valued at P802,400.
* Iloilo Police Provincial Office made one arrest, recovering approximately P224,400 worth of suspected drugs.
* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office recorded four arrests and seized illegal substances valued at P88,900.
PRO-6 director, Brigadier General Jack Wanky, commended the efforts of the regional unit commanders, acknowledging the vital support from the community and collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.
“These statistics reflect the results of our strong coordination, collaboration, and cooperation. With these partnerships, we anticipate the continued identification and arrest of individuals involved in illegal drug activities in the region,” Wanky said.
The apprehended suspects are currently under police custody and face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
