Iloilo City cops nab live-in partners; seize P1.7-M ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – Live-in partners were arrested in a buy-bust operation that led to the recovery of P1.7 million worth of suspected shabu weighing around 250 grams in Zone II, Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district.

The suspects were identified as aliases “Rick,” 36, and “Shei,” 39, residents of Mandurriao. Both were tagged as high-value individuals.

Joint operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 4, and Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 carried out the operation at 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, and confiscated a total of 12 plastic sachets and two knot-tied bags of suspected shabu.

The suspects are now in police custody. They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky commended the officers involved in the operation: “This accomplishment clearly reflects your dedication and commitment to duty. Let’s sustain our efforts and work closely with other law enforcement units and community partners.”/PN
