ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) apprehended 62 individuals wanted for various offenses across Western Visayas during a region-wide sweep conducted from 6 a.m. on November 12 to 5:59 a.m. on November 13.
The operation was part of the regional police force’s intensified drive to apprehend fugitives.
Among those arrested, seven were classified as “most wanted,” while 55 were listed as “other wanted” individuals.
Arrests by police units across the region included:
* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – 23 arrests
* Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 17 arrests
* Aklan Police Provincial Office – five arrests
* Bacolod City Police Office – four arrests
* Iloilo City Police Office – three arrests
* Antique Police Provincial Office – three arrests
* Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 – three arrests
* Capiz Police Provincial Office – two arrests
* Guimaras Police Provincial Office: 2 arrests
Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, the regional director of PRO-6, commended the coordinated efforts of police tracker teams and unit commanders, as well as the crucial support from the community.
He noted that community tips and information played an essential role in the operation’s success.
“These arrests represent a positive development for public safety in Western Visayas. By detaining these individuals, we reduce the likelihood of further criminal activities, thus enhancing peace and order in areas where they previously evaded capture,” said Wanky.
The arrested individuals are currently in police custody, awaiting transfer to the respective courts for legal proceedings.
Authorities remain optimistic that ongoing public cooperation will continue to aid in apprehending more fugitives across the region./PN
