The graduation ceremony was held last Friday, November 22, during the ANI 2024 “Pagkilala sang Kadalag-an nga naangkon sang tagsa ka benepisyaryo sang Pantawid Pamilya” at Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center here.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said the 372 families graduated from the program after achieving improved economic conditions.
βNalipay ako nga madamo nga kabataan sang Pantawid beneficiaries ang nakatapos na sa pag-eskwela kag nangin professional sa bulig sang 4Ps sang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Ini nga programa nangin pundasyon sang ila pagpangabuhi padulong sa kadalag-an,β the city mayor added.
Belen Gebusion, 4Ps Regional Program Coordinator/Division Chief of the DSWD Region 6, explained that a “graduate” refers to a household found to have self-sufficient level of well-being based on the assessment or validation using the social welfare and development indicator.
This indicator refers to a measurement system used to assess the level of development of welfare states and the social issues related to human welfare. It involves calculating various indicators that reflect different aspects of social protection systems. It can include social spending as a percentage of GDP, indicators of social differentiation or social organization, and indicators of social conditions and concerns. The aim is to provide a quantitative representation of welfare and establish connections between welfare and factors such as GDP, education, unemployment, and social care protection.
The use of indicators allows for comparisons in space and time, and can help identify areas where improvements are needed .
The concept of social welfare and development indicators is based on the idea of sustainable development and the broader social view of development.
The 4Ps provides conditional cash grants to the poorest of the poor, to improve the health, nutrition, and the education of children aged 0-18.
In order to receive subsidies, all the succeeding conditions must be met by the household-beneficiaries:
* Pregnant women must avail pre- and post-natal care, and be attended during childbirth by a trained professional
* Parents or guardians must attend the family development sessions, which include topics on responsible parenting, health, and nutrition
* Children aged 0-5 must receive regular preventive health check-ups and vaccines
* Children aged 6-14 must receive deworming pills twice a year
* Children-beneficiaries aged 3-18 must enroll in school, and maintain an attendance of at least 85% of class days every month./PN
