GUIMARAS – Gov. Joaquin Carlos Rahman Nava signed the P1,125,494,431 annual budget for 2025 on Tuesday afternoon, November 26.
The ceremonial signing was witnessed by members of the 10th Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP). The governor also signed the P292,145,000 budget for the operation of the local economic enterprise covering the operation of Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital.
The SP had approved the 2025 budget during their regular session on November 19. Next year’s budget is higher by 18.34 percent, or P174,433,225, from this year’s budget.
Of the approved budget for next year, P455,438,694 will go to the General Services Sector; P218,162,087 for the Development Fund; P197,352,813 for the Social Services; and the Economic Sector has P135,180,253.
Also, an amount of P62,105,862 was allocated for debt servicing; P56,274,722 reserved for calamity; and P980,000 for aid to barangays.
Vice Gov. John Edward G. Gando said the early approval of the 2025 budget will ensure that the provincial government has a fresh budget by January 1, 2025.
Gov. Nava, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to the members of the 10th SP for its unanimous approval of the 2025 budget.
“Ginapasalamatan ko gid subong nga adlaw ang inyo pag-aprubar sang aton nga 2025 budget sa provincial government kag operational budget sang Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital,” Gov. Nava said.
The projects and initiatives under the approved budget are aligned with the Kabataan FIRST development agenda of the governor./PN
