Ayalin pleads not guilty to assault, murder raps

BACOLOD City — Suspect Noel Ayalin pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against him before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 69 here yesterday.

Ayalin was charged with four counts of direct assault with murder and three counts of direct assault with frustrated murder.

The court’s Judge Felipe Banzon set the trial on June 16 at 2 p.m.

Atty. Danilo Pabalinas of the Public Attorneys’ Office served as Ayalin’s counsel.

No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary liberty.

Ayalin was heavily guarded by personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Regional Public Safety Battalion and Silay City police station.

On May 26, Ayalin pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted homicide filed against him before the Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 37 in Silay City.

Judge Eunice Cuansing meted the penalty of about three years for both cases.

The complainants were Kapitan Ramon Barangay Captain Jeffry Laturgo, the suspect’s godson, and Joemarie Occeña.

Ayalin, former barangay captain of Kapitan Ramon, Silay City, was accused of staging a shooting rampage that killed four people and wounded several others on March 6, 2011.

He was arrested on May 15 in Iba, Zambales, and detained in the Bacolod City District Jail’s Special Intensive Care Area./PN
