GUIMARAS – The municipality of San Lorenzo is in mourning following the passing of Mayor Ninfa G. Gajo early Thursday morning, December 5.
According to a press release from the local government unit (LGU) of San Lorenzo, Mayor Gajo passed away at around 2 a.m. The announcement, however, did not disclose the cause of her death or whether she passed away in a hospital.
“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Honorable Mayor. Our municipality has lost not only a great leader but also an extraordinary person who tirelessly dedicated her life to serving the municipality with vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment,” the LGU’s statement read.
The LGU called on the public to honor Mayor Gajo’s legacy by continuing the initiatives she started and upholding the values she stood for.
“As we grieve this immeasurable loss, let us honor her legacy by continuing the work she began and upholding the values she stood for,” the statement added.
The LGU also assured residents that details of the memorial arrangements and services will be announced in the coming days. The public is encouraged to join in offering prayers for the late mayor.
