BACOLOD City – Colonel Joeresty Coronica is asking the support of the city government for naming the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) headquarters as Camp Dr. Antonio A. Lizares.
The BCPO director said he sent a letter dated December 9, 2024 to Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran that pertains to their proposal to the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) to name the BCPO headquarters as Camp Dr. Antonio A. Lizares in honor of the esteemed donor of the lot where the police office is situated.
“The late Dr. Antonio A. Lizares, former owner of Dr. Antonio A. Lizares Company Inc., made a significant contribution to our community and naming the police camp after this donor would serve as a fitting tribute to their generosity and commitment to the security and safety of our citizens,” read part of the letter.
In this regard, the BCPO requested the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) for an issuance of a resolution supporting such as one of the requirements of the higher headquarters.
“Your support for this cause will serve as a tribute to Dr. Lizares’ contributions for the people of this city,” Coronica said.
The SP meanwhile referred the request of the BCPO to Councilor Pao Sy, chairperson of the committee on fire, social defense and natural disasters, during their regular session yesterday, December 18./PN
