ILOILO City – A total of 461 violators were arrested during a weeklong simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operations dubbed as “Birada Semana” across Western Visayas.
Data from the Police Regional Office6 (PRO-6) showed that from January 6 to 12, 375 operations were conducted that resulted to the arrest of the following:
* 231 wanted persons (32 most wanted persons and 199 other wanted persons)
* 67 illegal drug suspects (14 high-value and 99 street-level targets)
* 18 for loose firearms
* 99 for illegal gambling
All suspects are now under police custody for proper disposition.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, lauded all unit commanders and personnel across the region on their contributions in these achievements.
“These statistics was the result of your intensified effort against all forms of illegal activity in your respective areas of responsibility and with the strong support from the different law enforcement agencies and the community,” said Wanky.
He urged everyone anew to continuously support the peace and order endeavors by being vigilant and reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police units./PN
