
ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) seized over P25 million worth of illegal drugs in a three-week campaign across the region.
From December 15, 2024 to January 5, 2025, 95 operations resulted in the confiscation of approximately 3,768 grams of shabu and three grams of marijuana, alongside the arrest of 140 suspects.
Data from PRO-6 showed that Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) had the biggest haul after the confiscation of P16.5 million worth of shabu, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) with approximately P6.5-million recoveries, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) with around P1.08 million worth of illegal substances confiscated.
BCPO also recorded the highest number of arrests at 46 individuals while Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) and ICPO apprehended 43 and 37 suspects, respectively.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of PRO-6, lauded the efforts of the regional police force, particularly the coordinated efforts of local law enforcement agencies, community and local government units.
“Even during the festive season, we remained relentless in our fight against illegal drugs,” said Wanky. “This is a clear message that we will not let up in our campaign, ensuring a safer and drug-free community for all.”/PN
