Teacher dies in Estancia road mishap

ILOILO – A 23-year-old teacher died after a pickup collided with their motorcycle along the national highway in Barangay Tabuan, Estancia, Iloilo.

Alias “Claire,” a resident of the town’s Barangay San Roque, succumbed to severe body injuries. She was declared dead on arrival at Jesus M. Colmenares District Hospital in Balasan town.

The teacher’s motorcycle driver, 22-year-old alias “Dave”, a resident of Barangay Bulaqueña, sustained injuries in the different parts of his body. He was recuperating at the hospital.

According to Major Marvin S. Buenavista, chief of the Estancia Municipal Police Station (MPS), the accident occurred around 10 p.m. on Friday, January 17.

As of this writing, Estancia police were still investigating the incident further to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal road crash between the Yamaha MT-15 motorcycle and Nissan Navara driven by alias “Bry,” a 42-year-old businessman from Barangay Bulaqueña.

Bry is currently under police custody for proper disposition./PN
