Bacolod garbage hauling fee up by P9 million monthly

BACOLOD City – Due to the increase of the volume of garbage here, the city government has increased its allocation for hauling fee by almost P9 million per month.

The city awarded anew the garbage hauling contract to IPM-Construction and Development Corp. (IPM-CDC) after it had passed the bidding process requirements as the lone bidder, according to Ma. Fe Trespuentes, head of the Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO).

“The Approved Budget for the Contract (ABC) during the bidding was P304 million and the bid amount of the contractor was more than P303 million for the period of 11 months, or from February 1 to December 31, 2025,” said Trespuentes.

Last year, the city government had allocated an amount of P156,399,150 for a nine-month garbage collection.

For this year, Trespuentes said the city government is paying the contractor on volume basis, with a maximum volume of 400 tons of garbage per day.

Last year, the maximum volume of garbage per day in tonnage was 347./PN
