BACOLOD City β This city will implement a pet identification (ID) system for all dogs and cats here to improve animal welfare and promote responsible pet ownership.
Assistant City Veterinarian Dr. John Michael Cabuguason said the purpose of the ID system is to find out how many dogs and cats are in the city. Each registered animal will have its corresponding quick response (QR) code.
“Diri mabal-an kon pila ang mga ido kag kuring, kag maka-allocate kita sang insakto nga serbisyo nga mahatag sa ila,”Cabuguason explained.
He added that the pet ID is under the anti-rabies program of the City Veterinary Office (CVO).
βIt will make vaccination faster and efficient. Pet owners will be notified through a push notification whenever there is a scheduled vaccination,β the assistant city veterinarian said.
Last week, the CVO reminded that public anew that its anti-rabies vaccines for dogs and cats are free.
It added that pet owners are not required to donate money in exchange for CVO services./PN
