ROBI Domingo and Melai Cantiveros have been tapped to host the upcoming seventh season of the talent competition show “Pilipinas Got Talent.”
“It will be a privilege kasi growing up, isa sa mga iconic shows ng ABS CBN [ang] ‘Pilipinas Got Talent,’ lalo na with the Luis-Billy tandem,” said Domingo, referring to past hosts Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford.
“When they asked me to do it, no questions asked, I said yes. At nung tinanong kung sino ang makakasama, unfortunately…,” Domingo said.
“Ha! Bakit parang hindi ka masaya?” Cantiveros reacted.
“Noong tinawagan ako, parang hindi pa na-reach kasi check operator services. Sabi ‘PGT,’ wag kang maniwala, ‘PGT’ ibigay sa akin, eh pwede pa ko sa mga pang-barangay na show. Then suddenly,.. it’s magic, ayon na nga, ‘PGT’ na daw. I feel like I don’t deserve this!”
The experience and exposure they both had with “Pinoy Big Brother” (PBB) is a big help with their rapport and hopefully would transcend to the viewers.
Domingo said, “Ang sarap ng pakiramdam na ang kasama ko ay yung palagi ko nang kabatuhan, kaokrayan.”
Cantiveros added: “Sobra akong thankful kay Robi D kasi I think si Robi D is the one na nag-suggest sa akin. Kasi nga puro kami maloko sa ‘PBB,’ so they want to try. Sumugal sa amin. We will do our best.”
But more than their hosting, Melai said viewers should watch out for the line-up of contestants.
“‘Yong mga performances, kasi nasala na ng ating mga staff and crew. Excited silang ipakita sa atin yung mga performance na nasala nila kasi talagang mind-blowing, eto ha kahit walang mind, blowing talaga!”
Robi agreed and added, “Yung relationship namin together with the judges, nandoon din. There is friendship on and off cam, so baka pwedeng humirit.” (ABS-CBN News)
