ILOILO City – Suspected shabu worth P1,330 was seized from a man while inside the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) in Mandurriao district on Sunday, February 23.
According to Police Captain Joebert Amado, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo City Police Station 5 (ICPS5), alias “John,” 31, of San Enrique, Iloilo, tested positive for illegal drugs use based on test results released on February 24.
Hospital security procedures led to the discovery of 0.2 gram of suspected shabu from the suspect who visited a patient at the said hospital.
The suspect meanwhile admitted to previous illegal drugs use and said he had surrendered under the government’s “Oplan Tokhang” campaign in his hometown.
John was detained at the ICPS5, facing charges for violating Section 11 (possession of illegal drugs) and Section 15 (drug use) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
