
ILOILO – A man who had been missing for two days was found lifeless in an irrigation canal in Zone 5, Barangay Igang, Pototan town yesterday morning, February 27.
Authorities identified the victim as 40-year-old Mike Divinagracia, a resident of the town’s Barangay Barasan.
Pototan police said his family reported him missing to the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC) after he failed to return home on Monday, February 24.
A search and retrieval operation led to the discovery of his decomposing body in the irrigation canal.
Based on accounts from relatives, Divinagracia was last seen drinking with friends. They also noted he had a tendency to jump into the irrigation canal when intoxicated.
Police said the family of the victim believes there was no foul play involved and has opted not to have an autopsy conducted./PN
