
BACOLOD City – Three men died after a 10-wheeler truck rammed two motorcycles along the highway in Sitio Buhian, Barangay Tooy, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, March 4.
Himamaylan City police identified the fatalities as driver Jinuard Lirazan, 39, and back rider and younger brother Cesar Lirazan Jr., 25, both construction workers and residents of Purok Cesario, Barangay Tagukon, Kabankalan City; and another driver Danny Delalinia from Sitio Pagtaypon, Barangay Carol-an, Kabankalan City.
Reports showed that Lirazan brothers left their home around 5 a.m. and was on their way to Bacolod City for work when the accident happened.
According to witnesses, the truck driven by Benjie Agoilo, 48, from Barangay Maytubig, Isabela town, was running in high speed from Biscom in Binalbagan town to Kabankalan City. Upon reaching Barangay Tooy, the truck overtook another vehicle but lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into two motorcycles running in the opposite direction.
All three victims were rushed to the nearest hospital but succumbed to fatal injuries.
The truck driver meanwhile was detained at Himamaylan City Police Station for proper disposition./PN
