GUIMARAS – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office has continued its inclusive National ID registration efforts in 2025, successfully registering a 101-year-old centenarian, marking her as the oldest registrant so far this year.
Senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) were specifically prioritized in the latest registration efforts, with a total of 79 senior citizens and 35 PWDs registered from January to February. Among them was Susana Gallarde Garmay, a 101-year-old from Barangay Igang, Nueva Valencia, who visited the PSA Guimaras Fixed Registration Center (FRC) on February 28, 2025, with the assistance of a family member.
PSA Guimaras has focused on overcoming mobility challenges to ensure that elderly and disabled residents can access the National ID program. PWDs were also served through house-to-house mobile registration efforts, providing them with greater access to the registration process without the need for extensive travel.
“Through these initiatives, PSA Guimaras guarantees that every eligible Guimarasnon, regardless of age or mobility, has access to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys),” said Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare. She emphasized that the National ID would provide seniors and PWDs with easier access to government services, pension benefits, and financial transactions.
To ensure wider participation, PSA Guimaras collaborated with local government units (LGUs) and other stakeholders to inform the public, particularly the elderly and PWDs, about the National ID’s benefits.
The public is encouraged to participate in upcoming registration schedules. Individuals should bring necessary documents, such as birth certificates or other valid proof of identity, for smooth processing./PN
