
BROOKLYN Nets snapped its seven-game slide with a 111-108 victory over Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season on Monday night (Tuesday in the Philippines) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The Nets surged to a 106-100 lead with under a minute left after a basket from Cameron Johnson, but the Lakers made their last push at 106-108 following a three-pointer from Luka Doncic.
The Lakers pulled even closer at 108-111 after a layup by Austin Reaves and still had a chance to tie the score but Doncic misfired on a three-point from 76-foot out at the buzzer.
Noah Clowney came off the bench to deliver a team-high of 19 points, while Johnson and Keon Johnson finished with 18 markers apiece as the Nets improved to a 22-42 win-loss slate.
Tyrese Martin contributed 14 markers and Nicholas Claxton chipped in 12 points and six rebounds, while former Laker DAngelo Russell tallied eight points and seven assists for the Nets.
Gabe Vincent scored a season-high 24 markers to lead the Lakers, Doncic a triple-double of 22 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists, Dalton Knecht tallied 19 points, while Reaves and Jordan Goodwin ended with 17 each. They dropped to a 40-23 record.
Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic scored 35 points and Jamal Murray added 34 markers to lift Denver Nuggets (42-23) to a 140-127 win over Oklahoma City Thunder (53-12) at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
Michael Porter Jr. tallied 17 points, Russell Westbrook and Payton Watson ended with 16 points apiece, and Christian Braun contributed 14 markers for the Nuggets, which lost to the Thunder, 127-103, the other day.
The Nuggets’ bounce back win snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Thunder and gave Denver a tie in the season series, with each team winning two games each.
Luguentz Dort led the Thunder with 26 points, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 25 points, seven assists and a pair of blocks, while Isaiah Hartenstein scored 20 in the loss./PN
