Boy, 15, killed after argument with employer in San Dionisio

ILOILO – A 15-year-old boy was shot to death by his employer following a heated argument during a drinking session in Barangay Santol, San Dionisio, Iloilo, on Sunday night, March 9.

The victim identified as Martin Belza was reportedly drinking with his employer, a 49-year-old alias “Pedro,” who was celebrating his birthday.

According to Police Captain Edward Villanis, chief of the San Dionisio Municipal Police Station (MPS), the dispute started when the suspect allegedly called Belza itom (dark-skinned), which offended the latter. The argument escalated when Belza grabbed a knife and challenged his employer to a fight.

Although their drinking companions initially pacified the altercation, the suspect later went home, retrieved a firearm, and shot Belza multiple times in the chest and stomach, Villanis said.

The suspect was detained at the San Dionisio MPS. Charges were being prepared against him./PN
